Rosacea or Redness

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that affects approximately 10 per cent of the population. While not uncommon, it can be a source of great distress to those who live with it. In addition to the primary symptom of facial flushing or redness, rosacea sufferers may experience enlarged, swollen pores, visible veins, sensitive skin, and blemishes which are often mistaken for acne.

The good news is that rosacea is highly treatable using IPL/BBL (Intense Pulsed Light / Broadband Light) technology. The IPL works by delivering targeted light energy to heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will then stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. In addition, the photothermal energy will target and eliminate many of the fine blood vessels and capillaries that cause redness. This will help restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colours and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking.

What our Clients are Saying

Karen C

I was sceptical that laser treatment could help me. You know, one of those sounds too good to be true things? To my very pleasant surprise, the special laser machines used by Gentle Touch removed my rosacea and firmed the skin on my neck. Everyone I’ve encountered since has spontaneously commented upon the youthful, glowing appearance of my skin.

My rosacea had affected my self-confidence for as long as I can remember. Thanks to the IPL treatment, I feel like a new person. I’m no longer self-conscious in public because I now know that people are looking at ‘me’ and not my rosacea.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does IPL/BBL technology work to treat rosacea?
The IPL works delivers targeted light energy to heat the upper layers of your skin. The vascular structures which are responsible for causing your rosacea will respond to the precise energy level and wavelength of light that is emitted by the IPL. As the targeted light travels through the skin, it is absorbed by the blood within these vessels. The resulting heat coagulates or clots the blood, destroying the function of the vessel and stimulating your cells to generate new collagen. This leads to a reduction in redness, restoring your skin to its natural tone and beauty.
How many treatments will I require?
The number of treatments will vary from person to person. However, most clients require between three and five treatments for optimal results.
Does IPL/BBL treatment for rosacea require any down time?
No. You will be able to resume your regular activities following your treatment.
What after-care is required?
Your technician will recommend a skin care routine, including wearing a daily sun block, so that your rosacea symptoms do not return.
