Better skin now

Microdermabrasion is a controlled exfoliation of the skin to improve and remove skin abnormalities. This procedure is simple, painless, and can be performed on any part of the body. Microdermabrasion is often called the “lunch hour face lift” because it delivers visible results with absolutely no down time. After your treatment, you simply resume your daily activities!

Microdermabrasion works by safely and gently removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells (the epidermis) to reveal fresher, younger cells underneath. You will notice an improvement in your skin’s tone and clarity, while skincare products will absorb more readily. This treatment can also be used to accelerate other laser treatments.

Many men and women use microdermabrasion as a regular part of their skincare program. At Gentle Touch, we even offer special pricing on certain days of the week to encourage our clients to use this safe, gentle and effective treatment. Just ask your expert technician for details.

What our Clients are Saying

Kathleen S

I tend to be skeptical about any treatment that promises ‘immediate results,’ but microdermabrasion is the real deal! After just one treatment, my skin was smoother and softer. I now have a standing appointment at Gentle Touch to keep my skin looking fresh and youthful year-round.

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas can be treated?
Microdermabrasion can be performed on any of the body. While the face and neck are the most popular treatment areas, many clients opt for microdermabrasion on the hands, arms, back, legs, knees and thighs.
Why should I have microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion can help minimize fine lines, non-inflammatory acne, age spots, blotchiness, sun damage and rough, course textured skin. It is an excellent treatment for anyone who is looking to improve their skin’s clarity, texture, tone, and overall youthfulness.
How does it work?
Microdermabrasion works by exfoliating the skin to remove skin abnormalities or signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles or creases. Your technician will use a small handheld device, positioned at a precise angle, to gently “sand” the skin’s surface with delicate micro-crystals. These fine micro-crystals are simultaneously vacuumed up, loosening and removing dead skin cells to reveal smoother, younger-looking skin with greater clarity and elasticity.
Will it hurt?
No. Microdermabrasion is both gentle and painless. You will feel only a gentle vibration on the skin. In fact, many clients comment that the treatment feels quite soothing.
How many treatments will I need?
You will see an improvement in your skin’s tone and clarity after just one treatment. However, microdermabrasion works most effectively when it is performed in a series of four to six treatments at two-to-three week intervals. Your expert technician will help determine the best treatment plan for you, based on your age, budget, and the condition of your skin.
What skin types can be treated?
People with rosacea are not candidates for microdermabrasion. Otherwise, the treatment is suitable for all skin types and colours including sensitive skin.
Can I resume my normal activities after my treatment?
Yes. Microdermabrasion is also known as the “lunch hour face lift” because it yields visible results with no downtime. Following your procedure, you can immediately resume your regular activities.
